Details on Our Gatherings
We recognize that there are different views as to what is appropriate for gathering together in person during this season of COVID-19. As we gather together, we seek to do so in the spirit of Ephesians 4:1-3, which says:
Walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Below you will learn more about what steps we are taking and what you can expect when joining us in person on a Sunday morning.
Latest Update (November 6, 2020)
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
We have one service that begins at 9:30AM. In order to allow for social distancing, every other pew has been roped off. In addition to our primary seating, we have an overflow room as well as mask-only seating available in the Fellowship Hall.
Family groups are encouraged to sit together while maintaining the appropriate distance between them and other households. If and when the worship center becomes full, seating is available in the both overflow section and the balcony.
After the service, we continue learning together in our Enrichment Hour classes for 6th Grade through adults and our Grace Kids classes. This lasts from 11-Noon and provides a time for more in-depth and interactive learning about the truths of Scripture. Learn more about Enrichment Hour and Grace Kids.
If you are not able to gather together with us in person, we provide a livestream of both our service and the adult Enrichment Hour class afterward. Subscribe to our newsletter for reminders and other info each Sunday, and you can view the livestream on our YouTube channel at 9:30.
Childcare & Children’s Classes
Childcare and children’s classes are available during the service for nursery and preschoolers. We welcome children from Kindergarten on up to join us during the service.
In the second hour, we have our Grace Kids classes for nursery through 5th Grade. Learn more about our children’s ministries.
The safety of our church family and our community is a top priority. While we can never completely eliminate the risk of the spread of COVID-19, we have taken appropriate measures to mitigate that risk as much as possible.
These measures include the following steps:
- Regularly cleaning and disinfecting the facility
- Hand sanitizing stations are available at several points throughout the building
- We are currently forgoing our typical stand and greet time during the service.
- If you or someone in your household has been sick, we ask that you would watch the service at home
- Doors will be propped open, bulletins will not be handed out, and we will use an offering box instead of passing the plates to limit passing things back and forth (you can also give online).
- There is no coffee or donuts provided after the service at this time
- Class sizes for children’s ministries have been reduced to allow for better distancing
- Once the service is over, everything will be cleaned and disinfected in preparation for next week
When you come into the church building you will note that there will be a number of areas and rooms that are unavailable. This is to reduce the amount of work needed to clean the facility after we gather. Please do not enter areas that are blocked off or utilize rooms that have been closed.
Are masks required?
Masks are not required but they are encouraged, particularly when in the hallways; once you are seated feel free to leave them on or take them off. We have masks on hand should you like one but not have one with you.
We also offer mask-only seating in the Fellowship Hall, where you can be more socially distant and still gather with other believers as you watch the service.
Is there singing?
Yes! We have congregational singing when we gather.
How long will these precautions and changes remain in effect?
We continue to evaluate the situation and will make adjustments to our guidelines as needed.
