What is Youth Ministry?
Youth ministry here at Grace aims to encourage youth in and expose youth to the grace, hope, and love of Jesus Christ. We choose to do that in the simplest and most effective ways we see used in Scripture: studying the Bible together, praying for each other, and hanging out with each other (Acts 2:42).
The other side of what we do here at Grace in our student ministry, specifically with the parents/guardians of the students involved, is seek to stir up conversation between them and their student(s) about the “big questions” in life: “Who am I?”, “Who is God?”, “What is my purpose?”, “What does God have to say about all this?”
We want to give parents/guardians the platform to stand on as they lead, disciple, and bring up their children in the ways of God. We want parents to be as involved as possible in some of the most crucial years of their students lives. Therefore, we commit to walk alongside, equip, encourage, and train parents during these important, glorious, and fun times in their childrens’ lives.
Why the Name Ignite?
We chose to call our student ministry Ignite for a straight forward commitment we have to the command Jesus gave us, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
We want to live out the truths in this command: that we have a Father in heaven and that makes us sons and daughters, that we have a light given to us by God that changed us and can change the lives of others forever, and to not be ashamed of the Good News that saved us.
So we want to stand in the power of the Holy Spirit and answer this call to be the light of the world together as the people of God, regardless of age and united in Christ.

When We Gather
We have 2 times during the week that we get together: Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
Middle school (6th-8th grade) meets at 6:30-8:00pm, we study God’s Word then break off into small groups to get a little more personal with the students. Between 7:30-8:00pm we have a “hangout” time and every other week we have our worship team lead us in song.
High school (9th-12th grade) meets from 7:30-9:00pm, we start with the “hangout” time or worship through singing depending on the week. Then we do a Bible study and break off into small groups to end the night.
We meet during Enrichment Hour right after church service from 11:05-12:00pm. We use this time to do more training and deeper study on topics.
